Ideally (though not essentially) first read my previous memoir, Breaking Into Pentridge Prison: Memories of darkness and light. Though that covers only a small section of my life, it was momentous in affecting the matters dealt with here. (Available from the Pentridge Prison Inside Out website.)
Also, I'm about to be 86 (early next month). Despite the fact that my doctor and I both think I'm doing very well for my age, I can't help wondering if I'll get this memoir finished before I leave the planet. If not, perhaps a first draft on a blog is better than nothing. So many people have been eager to read this memoir, I'd hate to disappoint!
But to read the first draft, rather than a final book that's as good as I can get it, may also be disappointing for you. Just a thought. I leave it to you.
(Though, if it appears here, it will already have been proof-read, edited, and reconsidered a few times – my so-called first drafts to see any light of day are never just off-the-cuff. Indeed, these chapters will undoubtedly be getting some more tweaking here, even after being posted. But mostly only tiny things which I think improve the writing – the English expression, as we used to call it at school.)
Good morning -delightFULL to know that the long awaited sharing will soon appear from the great beyond ❤️❤️
ReplyDeleteI'm certain I will not be any more able to keep myself from tasting your first draft than I am from tasting into the Halloween candy bought for the neighborhood kiddies ! Hugs Rainbows and Love ❤️
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, Pearl. Hope you enjoy!
